Avril Lavigne Appears On New Song “Listen” With ONE OK ROCK

It’s been a while since we’ve heard any new music from Avril Lavigne. Other than her charity single, “Fly,” and a collaboration with Nick Carter on “Get Over Me” in 2015, it’s been quiet for fans. While she’s actively working on a new album, due out later this year, fans can now enjoy her new song with the band ONE OK ROCK. The Japanese rock group just released their eighth studio album, Ambitions, and Avril joins them on the song “Listen.”

“Listen” is a moody, mid-tempo song that tells you to listen to your heart. It’s about being there for a friend who may have regrets and have learned lessons from their mistakes. It’s a good message, and the vocals and music emphasize the emotion.

Check out “Listen” below:

“Listen” is the 10th track on ONE OK ROCK’s new album, Ambitions. Avril Lavigne only features on the Japanese version of the album, but those of you in the United States can get an Avril-less version of “Listen” on iTunes or Spotify now. The US edition includes a song, “Jaded,” with All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth; both the US and Japanese copies also feature 5 Seconds Of Summer on the closing track, “Take What You Want.”

Avril is actively working on her 6th studio album, the follow-up to her 2013 self-titled record. She’s been writing and recording for over a year, and lately has been teasing fans with lyrics from songs possibly called “Warrior” or “Crush.” She promises to release the album sometime in 2017, but has not given an exact timeframe. Fans expect to hear a new single within the next few months.

A new album isn’t the only thing Avril’s been working on recently. She signed on to voice Snow White in an upcoming animated film called Charming. The movie will also come with a new song written by Fall Out Boy and sung by Avril.
