Evanescence Shares “My Heart Is Broken” From ‘Synthesis Live’
In only two days, Evanescence will share their upcoming live album and concert film, Synthesis Live. Following live videos for “Hi-Lo” and “Lacrymosa” in the last week, Evanescence is sharing one more performance sneak peek. “My Heart Is Broken,” originally from their self-titled third album, was reimagined for Synthesis last year. The updated version cast the song in a new light, and that fresh perspective is brought to life in the new live version of “My Heart Is Broken.”
The performance starts with gentle orchestra, frontwoman Amy Lee and a harp joining in for the verse. It’s a lush, rich sound offset by the electronic drums. The second verse features puncturing horns, amplifying the sound even further. “My Heart Is Broken” grows into a powerful chorus, while the final bridge lilts into a soothing piano and harp duet. This strong performance promises a stunning Synthesis Live.

Last November, Evanescence made their long-awaited comeback by releasing a special album, Synthesis, their first in six years. The unique album reimagined the band’s best-known songs in a more orchestral and electronic soundscape, highlighting their classical background. The new concert film and live album were recorded on November 3, 2017. Evanescence performed Synthesis Live in front of a sold-out crowd at the Grand Theater at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.
