See Avril Lavigne’s Gorgeous “I Fell In Love With The Devil” Music Video

Earlier this year, Avril Lavigne released her stunning comeback album, Head Above Water. Following the singles “Head Above Water” and “Tell Me It’s Over,” today Avril premiered the music video for her latest single, “I Fell In Love With The Devil,” a song she wrote alone.

“I Fell In Love With The Devil” is among the best songs on Avril’s new album, and its music video matches it in quality. In contrast to both the album version and the radio edit, this version of the song adds some new vocal parts at the beginning and near the end.

The video opens with a vintage funeral car driving down a forest lane. Avril, done up in elegant makeup, expensive jewelry, and an old-fashioned hair-do, drives the funeral car holding a white casket. And who is in the casket? Here we see Avril dressed in white, a picture of angelic innocence confined to a coffin. In the forest, we get a glimpse into how Avril fell in love with the titular devil. Dressed in red, she performs on the piano here, a backdrop for how she met this dark-haired devil. A religious Avril, cloaked in black and holding a cross, warns of the dangers, but is seemingly ignored as the devil takes hold.

It’s a gorgeous music video, and among the best in Avril’s videography. This will certainly earn several replays!

“I Fell In Love With The Devil” appears on Avril’s new album, Head Above Water. You can stream or purchase the album at all the major music providers here. You can also stream the radio edit of “I Fell In Love With The Devil” here.

Last February, more than five years after releasing her eponymous fifth album, Avril Lavigne made her music comeback with Head Above Water. Many of the songs, including the lead single and title track, detail her battle with Lyme Disease. But it’s not all about her health battle; songs like “Tell Me It’s Over” describe relationship woes, whereas “Dumb Blonde” offers an unexpected feminist anthem. It’s a stunning album that harkens back to Avril’s earliest albums while forging new, Motown-esque territory.

This fall, Avril will embark on her first tour in five years. The Head Above Water Tour will kick off in Seattle on September 14th and run through October 11th when it finishes in Philadelphia. Check out all the dates and find tickets here before it’s too late!
