Following their 2016 album Taking One For The Team - plus the 15-year anniversary of their debut, No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls - Simple Plan is gearing up for their sixth album. In fall 2018, frontman Pierre Bouvier and drummer Chuck Comeau began the writing process for the new album. They've written with Travis Clark of We The Kings several times, but have also stated they've worked with other writers as well. As of spring 2019, they were nearly done writing.
In late July 2019, all five members of Simple Plan officially entered the studio to begin recording the sixth album. At this point, they'll probably spend a few months recording all of the instruments and vocals.
Simple Plan has said they aim to release the album later in 2019, but a 2020 date may be more likely. Whenever we get to hear the new music, we can be sure it will be "phenomenal"! The band members say the new music will cover a bit of everything we love from them - happy love songs, dark and tragic tunes, energetic punk songs, ballads, and more.
