Andrew McMahon Announces New Band “Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness”

Andrew McMahon is well-known within the music industry. He fronted the pop punk band Something Corporate in the early 2000s, and then formed the band Jack’s Mannequin in 2004. Both groups have since disbanded, and Andrew McMahon released an EP under his own name last year.

Now Andrew McMahon has announced his new band name: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. As with Andrew’s past band and name changes, this new group should mark a new musical direction. Andrew describes his “wilderness” as abstract, but fans will find his ever-present keyboard and “desire to make my best music” familiar and welcome.

Andrew promises more news to come, and we expect the wait won’t be too long. He has been recording new music since early April this year, and shared updates with fans through the end of May. He has since been on tour with Gavin DeGraw and Matt Nathanson.

Whatever style Andrew’s new music is, fans can be sure it will be great. Everything Andrew has put out – from the punk rock of Something Corporate and the pop rock of Jack’s Mannequin, to the slick pop of his solo EP – has always been stellar. We can’t wait to learn more about Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and hear the new music!
