Gwen Stefani’s New Single May Have Been Delayed

Last month news came out that Gwen Stefani was getting ready to release her first solo single in 7 years. “Baby Don’t Lie” was scheduled for a mid-October release, and Gwen reportedly filmed a music video with director Sophie Muller. However, it looks like we won’t be hearing “Baby Don’t Lie” just yet.

Billboard reports that her record label, Interscope, has confirmed the single delay. Interscope emailed the message, “Please remove the add date. Will get new information shortly.” Furthermore, it is reported that Gwen and her team are still trying to decide what song will act as the lead single. Although “Baby Don’t Lie” seems to have been the original choice, a different single could end up on radio first. Only time will tell, but if Gwen still plans to release her new solo album this December, chances are the news will be out soon.

Gwen has been working on her new solo album for most of the year. She has worked with longtime collaborator Pharrell, and he has reportedly recorded some vocals for one of her new tracks – they may have another duet coming out! The pair have both joined this season’s The Voice, and it seems that Gwen is trying to line up her new single and album release with the show; it will make for some great promo, and will be a smart move for her.

In addition to recording her third solo album, Gwen has also been working with her bandmates on a new No Doubt album. While Gwen’s solo record is tentatively penciled in for a December release, the new No Doubt record may come out a bit later.

There has been a lot going on the the Gwen Stefani and No Doubt music world. You can check out our full recap of the whole recording process so far, and keep checking back here for the latest music news.
