Muse’s New Album Features An Orchestra, And It Sounds Beautiful

Muse have been recording their upcoming 7th album since October, with Robert John “Mutt” Lange in the producer’s seat. The band has been good about sharing studio tidbits on their Instagram, but now they’ve upped it to a new level: Muse just shared a brief clip of an orchestra!

Milan strings

Previously, frontman Matthew Bellamy has said this would be a more stripped, back-to-basics kind of album, with more focus on heavy sounds rather than the “additional things” like electronics and orchestral work. However, it seems that at least that last part has had a change of direction, because they just recorded that lovely orchestra for the new album.

Simpler, heavier music backed by sweeping strings sounds like it could make for some delightful songs, so we’re definitely excited for this record.

Muse’s 7th album is expected around summer 2015. Keep up on all we know about it over on our recording recap page, and keep checking back here for more of the latest Muse news.
