It’s been a little while since we’ve heard anything about Hilary Duff’s new music. She released two singles in 2014: “Chasing The Sun” and “All About You” were acoustic pop tracks, the latter more radio ready and deserving of being a big hit. They were meant to be the lead singles from Hilary’s first studio album since 2007. She had begun working on it in fall 2013, and it looked like it was just about to be released in late 2014.
But once fall started, Hilary was busy with other obligations. Until mid December, she was busy filming for the new TV series Younger, which debuts next month. She became quiet about music, leaving anxious fans wondering what was happening with her long-awaited new album.
Well, it looks like Hilary’s not done working on it yet. She just flew all the way to Sweden to craft some more songs! And she happens to have a rising star and accomplished writer with her: Tove Lo is helping Hilary write some new songs!
Tove Lo has had a few hits of her own recently, but did you know she’s also behind Ellie Goulding’s latest smash single? That’s right: Tove Lo was one of the writers on “Love Me Like You Do.”
Wolf Cousins, referenced in the second Instagram photo, is a production team consisting of Tove Lo, Max Martin, Shellback, and a handful of other producers. That’s a great team for Hilary to be working with!
Hilary’s new album has been quite a long time in the making, and hopefully it won’t be much longer before we finally get to hear it. The first two singles came out last summer, and with any luck, a third single will be released soon with an album following right after. We’re excited to hear how Hilary sounds now, 8 years after her last album, Dignity!
