Kelly Clarkson’s new album Piece By Piece is coming out in just a coupe of weeks, and it includes her highly anticipated duet with John Legend. Kelly hyped the mystery duet for months before it was finally revealed that her song “Run Run Run” is with John. The sultry, dark duet is going to be amazing, but it looks like it’s not the only duet fans can look forward to!
In a recent interview, Kelly revealed that she has a second duet coming out soon. It’s also with a male artist, and will appear on his upcoming album. She can’t say much about it, but we do know we’ll get to hear it in May. This is what Kelly said about it:
I don’t think I can talk about another one that I just recently did but he’s a very big departure from me musically and it was really cool, it came out of nowhere. He asked to see if I would sing on something and it sounds so good and it’s something that I’m really proud of. So I can’t wait for people to hear it. But it doesn’t come out until May so I can’t talk about it, but it’s a guy and he sings differently from me most of the time. It’s coming out on their album. So it’s cool, I never did any duets ever and then all of a sudden I was doing two different people.
Throughout her career, Kelly has released only a few collaborations with artists, and they usually ended up being county duets rather than pop. She’s recently talked about this, saying that in spite of asking other artists to sing with her over the years, nothing ever worked out. But now, 13 years into her career, Kelly has not one but two duets for fans to enjoy!
Kelly’s new album Piece By Piece will be out on March 3rd – you can pre-order it on iTunes now. It includes her new single “Heartbeat Song” as well as the John Legend duet, “Run Run Run.” Kelly also has a couple of anthems written by Sia; one of them, “Invincible,” might be the album’s second single. You can learn everything we know about the 16 new songs, as well as read a recap of the whole album recording process.
The new mystery duet will be out in May. We can’t wait to hear it, but we’re still wondering who it’s with. Let us know your guesses in the comments!
