Gwen Stefani Has 15 New Songs Ready For Upcoming Solo Album
Gwen Stefani certainly has been inspired lately! Earlier this month she enthused that she was “writing songs like I’ve never written” and had 10 new songs ready. Now we can update that track count to more than 15. As she told Entertainment Tonight, “I’m always in a rush. I want to get music out always and as soon as possible. I have never had a writing experience like this. This has been literally channeling unbelievable luck.” Gwen has written 15 new songs with a group of writers and producers, and that’s on top of the songs she worked on last year.
I went in and I found these kids – these writers and these producers – it’s a group of us, I call ourselves The Breakfast Club. I have 15 songs, or probably more than that. I do have more than that because I have a bunch from before, but the ones that I’m really addicted to that I’m like, ‘OK, these are the ones.’ It feels so good and it’s been incredible.
Gwen has confirmed that she has not worked with Pharrell again since last year’s “Spark The Fire,” but she would like to soon. “Last time I saw him at the Knockouts [on The Voice], we were like, ‘OK, we have to do something because I am so in the zone. And a lot of the reason why I’m in the zone is because of him.” See the full video below:
More recently, Gwen also posted a cute drawing of her with her “Breakfast Club” working on new songs:
Gwen was originally supposed to release her third solo album last winter. She put out two singles – “Baby Don’t Lie” and “Spark The Fire” – and also performed a new ballad called “Start A War.” But most of this year she has been quiet working on new songs in the studio. Hopefully Gwen will be ready to release a new single – and album – later this year.
