Avril Lavigne Teams Up With Nick Carter On “Get Over Me”
Early last year, Avril Lavigne went on tour with the Backstreet Boys in support of her self-titled fifth album. So it should be no surprise that she decided to team up with Nick Carter for a track on his new solo album, All American. “Get Over Me” is a fun pop rock breakup song about getting away from someone who can’t let go and move on. Nick talked to iHeartRadio about how the collaboration came about:
I talked to Avril about doing a collab together, and we became friends – we were on tour together with the Backstreet Boys [in 2014]. She was into the idea, and she really liked it. She liked the song that I had written, and she put her vocals on the song, and it was really cool.
There’s no word on whether this will be a single, but we can enjoy the audio for now:
Avril Lavigne has had a big year. After releasing a music video for her perfect track, “Give You What You Like,” Avril revealed that she is battling Lyme Disease. She released a new charity single called “Fly” this summer, and recently announced her separation from Chad Kroeger, her husband of two years. She is set to appear in a new animated film, Charming, and plans to release a Christmas album in the future. But for now, her main focus is writing and recording for a new studio album. It’s not clear how far along she is just yet, but with any luck we may hear some new music in 2016. Keep checking back here for all the latest music news.
