Simple Plan Reveals Full ‘Taking One For The Team’ Tracklist
Simple Plan’s long-awaited fifth studio album, Taking One For The Team, will finally be released on February 19, 2016. The record has had three singles so far – “Boom,” “I Don’t Wanna Be Sad,” and “I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed” – and now the band has revealed the full track listing, including 11 additional songs that fans haven’t yet heard. Check it out:
- “Opinion Overload”
- “Boom“
- “Kiss Me“
- “Farewell”
- “Singin’ In The Rain”
- “Everything Sucks“
- “I Refuse“
- “I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed” (featuring Nelly)
- “Nostalgic”
- “Perfectly Perfect”
- “I Don’t Wanna Be Sad“
- “P.S. I Hate You”
- “Problem Child”
- “I Dream About You”
Three of the above songs are singles we’ve gotten to hear this year. “Everything Sucks” is one of the first song titles we learned of while the band was in the studio earlier in 2015, and a studio video includes part of the demo. During a Facebook chat in October, Pierre talked about “I Refuse,” a heavy song that’s anti-bullying, and “Kiss Me” – then “Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching.” More recently, Pierre and Chuck did another Facebook chat and mentioned “Singin’ In The Rain,” which is about powering through difficult times.
Simple Plan had promised more collaborations, but it looks like Nelly is the only feature on Taking One For The Team. The only song not on the album is their single “Saturday,” which received lackluster feedback when it came out last June.
You can already pre-order Taking One For The Team on iTunes now. If physical is more your style, Simple Plan has three options available on their website: A simple CD with all 14 songs, an All-Star Team package which comes with a lithograph and t-shirt, and the Hall Of Fame package, which comes with a signed lithograph, t-shirt, 5 trading cards (one for each band member), and a pennant.
Keep checking back here for all the latest Simple Plan music news. Their new album, Taking One For The Team, will be out in just two months, and the band have hinted at plans of releasing one more single before then. Which of the above songs could it be? We’ll find out soon!
