Natasha Bedingfield & Basto Share Magical New Single, “Unicorn”
Six weeks ago, Natasha Bedingfield suddenly teased fans about a new “surprise project” video shoot for something relating to unicorns. We quickly remembered that “Unicorn” was a song that Natasha had written by October 2013 with the help of Toby Gad and Jef Martens – aka Basto (of Lazy Jay), who has since confirmed his part in the project. Now we finally get to hear the song and see its music video.
“Unicorn” is a beautiful collaboration between Basto and Natasha, combining Basto’s electro house sound with Natasha’s uplifting lyrics. Her voice is light and free, and if not for the different musical direction, it’s a song that would have fit right in on her previous albums. The music video focuses on Natasha – looking magical thanks to lots of glitter, metallic clothes, and a sparkling cape – as she dances in an open field. She’s eventually joined by three other girls before the music video’s end. Listen to “Unicorn” in the music video below:
You can pre-order “Unicorn” on iTunes now, ahead of a March 4th release.
Last year, Natasha released a charity single called “Hope” as part of a partnership with the skin care brand, Philosophy. She also released a studio version of “Love Song To The Earth,” featuring vocals from over a dozen well known artists like Paul McCartney and Fergie.
Natasha has been writing and recording new music since spring 2012, working on the follow up to her 2010 album, Strip Me. The album is expected out later this year; be sure to read up on all that’s gone into making the new record, including known song titles and collaborators. It is possible that “Unicorn” may appear on her upcoming album. Keep checking back here for all the latest Natasha Bedingfield music news.
