Gwen Stefani Shares Lyric Video For New Song, “Misery”
Gwen Stefani’s new album, This Is What The Truth Feels Like, will be out in exactly one week. After hearing the singles “Used To Love You” and “Make Me Like You,” our newest taste of the new record comes in the form of “Misery.” The first track on the album, “Misery” is a midtempo feel-good ode to a new crush. It opens with an ’80s-styled bass line and hand claps, minimal instrumentation to accompany Gwen’s lyrics. The pre-chorus leads up to a bigger chorus perfect for pop radio. In spite of the title, Gwen says “Misery” is a happy song; she wrote it with Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels, Mattias Larsson, and Robin Fredriksson – the same team behind the upbeat “Make Me Like You.”
“Misery” also comes with a lyric video. All the handwritten lyrics and illustrations were done by Gwen Stefani herself. Check it out below:
You can get “Misery” now if you pre-order This Is What The Truth Feels Like from iTunes. You’ll also get instant downloads of the first two singles, “Used To Love You” and “Make Me Like You.” Target will also have a special edition of This Is What The Truth Feels Like featuring four exclusive bonus tracks. We only have a week left until the album drops; until then, be sure to read up on all that went into making it – joining a TV show, an unexpected divorce, new love, a scrapped album, and more.
