3 ‘Stronger’ Era Kelly Clarkson Songs Leak
It’s been a while since any Kelly Clarkson songs have leaked! After a plethora of old and new demos leaked online in 2010 and 2011, Kelly’s songs have been under a stronger lock and key since then. Until now, that is: Three Stronger era songs have suddenly surfaced to the joy of Kelly’s fans.
Most of the songs that leaked between 2010 and 2011 were meant for Kelly’s fifth album, Stronger, though some were from her earlier albums or meant for other artists. The three new songs, incidentally, are all leftovers from Stronger. While “Break The Silence” and “One More Yesterday” (which features American Idol alumnus Chris Daughtry) were both intended for her album, it’s unclear if “We Own The Night” was also a contender.
“Break The Silence”
Not much is known about “Break The Silence,” though the title has been floating around since shortly before Stronger was released. It was registered on BMI in summer 2011 and shows that Kelly co-wrote it with Ric Robbins.
“Break The Silence” is a midtempo track that finds Kelly grieving a loss and fighting for her dreams. It’s a powerful song, and the best of the three new leaks. This one definitely deserved to be on Stronger. Listen below:
“One More Yesterday” feat. Chris Daughtry
Fans have known about this song since early 2010. Kelly had recorded a song with Chris Daughtry called “Temporary” for her 4th album, All I Ever Wanted, but it ended up not being released. Kelly and Chris tried again when she began working on her 5th album. In May 2010, Kelly shared a behind-the-scenes video of her recording a duet with a “mystery” partner. Although it was supposed to be a secret, most fans figured it was Daughtry.
Six years later, we finally get to hear “One More Yesterday” in full. It’s an uptempo pop rock song that actually would have fit better on Kelly’s earlier albums. It may not have fit well with the rest of the songs on Stronger, but it’s definitely a fun song that deserves to be heard. Maybe with any luck we’ll get Kelly and Daughtry’s first duet, too.
“We Own The Night”
If you’re a Selena Gomez fan, you’ve probably heard this song already. “We Own The Night” appeared on Selena Gomez and the Scene’s third and final album, When The Sun Goes Down, released in June 2011. The song was co-written by Toby Gad, who happened to be working with Kelly on her new album around the same time. Kelly likely recorded this demo in 2010 before the song ended up with Selena.

Kelly Clarkson just gave birth to her second child, a son named Remington, last week. Her most recent album, Piece By Piece, came out last year and has had success with the title track recently. In the meantime, Kelly already has plans for the future: She will release a children’s book in October, and has a song set to be released with the upcoming film, The Secret Scripture, due out later this year. Kelly is also working on her next album, expected out in 2017. Keep checking back here for all the latest Kelly Clarkson news.
