Last year, Hilary Duff released her first album in 8 years, Breathe In. Breathe Out. Even after such a long break, it was a great album, launched with the pop single “Sparks” and featuring highlights like the Ed Sheeran penned “Tattoo.” Unfortunately, the Breathe In. Breathe Out. era was cut short, and Hilary turned to filming seasons two and three of her TV series, Younger. Earlier this year, Hilary sounded a little unsure about how and when to record her followup album. Luckily for her eager fans, Hilary was already back in the studio last month! She even shared a few clips from the new music.
Today, a few new interviews with Hilary Duff were published, and they confirmed some exciting news: Not only does Hilary have a new manager, she’s also working on new music! Hilary told AOL:
Music is such a part of my life and my makeup, though, that I don’t think I’ll ever stop doing it. I just don’t think it’ll ever be on the scale that it used to be. I was in the studio a week ago just messing around, though, and I’m working with a new manager, so it’s definitely still going on. It’s just a little bit on the back burner.
Hilary talked more about the new music to E Online, saying that the songs she’s been working on lately are a bit darker. She also confirmed that the song she shared last month is called “Tied To You.” She’s just casually recording music for now, but is thinking about making a full album.
I was in the studio a few weeks ago, and I tend to do this a few weeks before filming…Just during the season it kind of helps me get excited for the possibility of making a new record or having something to play people.
It’s a bit of a darker tone. The one I teased [on Snapchat] is called “Tied To You.” It has a little big of a heavier, darker sound. But it changes all the time.
And given her recent divorce from Mike Comrie, Hilary added, “I do have some new things to write about. It’s exciting.” You can read more from the interview with E Online.
It’s great to know that Hilary is already back in the studio recording new songs. Darker music definitely sounds intriguing! Naturally, our next question is about when we’ll get to hear them. Hilary doesn’t have a real timeframe just yet. Maybe sometime in 2017?
The followup to Breathe In. Breathe Out. is already well under way. As always, we’ll keep you posted on any new music progress. Keep checking back here for all the latest Hilary Duff music news.
