Now things are getting exciting! Three months ago, Paramore entered the studio to begin recording their fifth album. At the time, Paramore was down to a duo. In late 2015, bassist Jeremy Davis left the band, leaving only frontwoman Hayley Williams and guitarist Taylor York. But it looks like the duo might be back up to a trio. None other than Zac Farro seems to be working on the new music with them! Does this mark his official return?
Let’s back it up for a second. Way back in 2010, two of Paramore’s founding members left the band. Brothers Josh and Zac Farro split from Paramore on less-than-nice terms, and the now-trio wrote about it in their subsequent music. The Farros and Paramore went their separate ways, but then Paramore lost one more member when Jeremy left last December. But friendships can rekindle, and it looks like Hayley and Taylor have officially made up with Zac! Is this his return to Paramore?
Earlier this month, Paramore shared a photo featuring none other than ex-Paramore drummer, Zac Farro. Is he going to write or play any songs on the new music? Is he officially part of the band again? At any rate, he seems to be involved in the new music somehow.

Though Zac seems to be with the band again, there’s no mention of his brother Josh Farro returning.
With Jeremy gone and Zac apparently back, it will be exciting to hear how the music changes. Hayley and Taylor were the principle songwriters on Paramore, so there may not be a big change in style. But what about the topics? Will Jeremy’s departure and Zac’s return to the band come up?
Hayley also just married her longtime boyfriend, New Found Glory’s Chad Gilbert, in February. Will married life affect the new music? Perhaps more lovey lyrics and cheerful music? On the other hand, Hayley and Chad have been together for eight years, so maybe there won’t be much of a change after all. We’ll find out soon enough!
Now that Paramore is actively recording the album, they’ve been generous with the studio updates. There should be plenty more studio updates and news over the coming months, too. While the album could be ready by the end of this year, it will most likely come out sometime in 2017.
In the meantime, check up on all we know about Paramore’s new album on their recording page. We’ll keep it up-to-date throughout the recording process. Keep checking back here for all the latest Paramore music news.
