Evanescence fans have been patiently waiting for new music from the band for years. The group released their last album, Evanescence, in 2011. That was five years after The Open Door and eight years after their debut, Fallen. Now we finally have some exciting news about the band: Evanescence is releasing a huge vinyl boxset this fall! Update: The Ultimate Collection will be out December 9th, and will include all three of their albums, as well as Origin. In addition to the previously-released material, the boxset will also include a new version of their early song, “Even In Death,” and an unreleased track called “Lost Whispers.” The boxset comes with a glow-in-the-dark slipcase for the vinyls and a 52-page art portfolio that includes handwritten lyrics.
Frontwoman Amy Lee took to Facebook to share some more about what the upcoming boxset includes:
Update: You can pre-order the boxset on the Evanescence website. The first 400 pre-orders will receive a collectible bookplate autographed by Amy! There’s no word on when Evanescence will record a new album, though they will be on tour this fall. In a recent interview with MTV, Amy said that new Evanescence will happen… just not that soon: “It’s not right around the corner, like it’s not tomorrow, but … we have some cool ideas in mind.”
Meanwhile, Amy released a children’s album, Dream Too Much, on September 30th. It was largely inspired by her two-year-old son, Jack, and she worked on it with her father and sisters. In 2014, she released an album of music she’d composed for the indie film, War Story. She also wrote a song called “Speak To Me” for an upcoming film called Voice From The Stone and scored for another film called Blind. Earlier this year, Amy released a 4-song EP of covers. Amy has been flexing her creative muscles, but fans looking for new Evanescence music may have to wait a bit longer.
The Ultimate Collection will be exciting for Evanescence fans to get their hands on! It will be out this December; stay tuned for more details as the date draws closer. Keep checking back here for all the latest Evanescence and Amy Lee music news.
