After years of writing and demoing, Hoobastank is finally officially recording their sixth album! They started way back in 2014, and by spring 2015, frontman Doug Robb revealed that they had 30 songs written and demoed, more than they’d ever had for an album before. He also mentioned two new song titles! In summer 2015, he announced that they were ready to find a producer and officially record the album, and he later predicted that we’d have the new album in summer 2016. Summer has come and gone, and while Hoobastank didn’t meet that tentative goal, they are now officially recording!
They entered the studio in October:
Things got real at the beginning of November, with Matt Wallace producing and the album slated for a 2017 release.
Not by Xmas but you will get one….. https://t.co/vtGbhEQJQb

I needed to loosen up a little and "sexify" my vox approach today for a song. Made a concoction of Jack and Brisk iced tea. #Briskey it is.

Update 12/5/16: One more pic from Doug:
Hoobastank is officially recording their sixth album with producer Matt Wallace. They’ve been recording all the guitar, bass, drum, and vocal parts, and it won’t be long until they finish up in the studio. After recording comes mixing and mastering, and then it won’t be long until the album is out! Hoobastank’s new album will likely be out by next summer!
