Ed Sheeran Offers Glimpse Into Past In “Castle On The Hill” Music Video

A few weeks ago, Ed Sheeran returned from his online hiatus to share not one, but TWO new tracks off his upcoming third studio album. While “Shape Of You” takes Ed into romance territory, “Castle On The Hill” is more nostalgic. Today, the uptempo, guitar-based “Castle On The Hill” comes to life in a new music video.

The lyrics describe Ed’s childhood and teenage years growing up in Framlingham, England. In the video, we see a teenaged Ed and his friends getting into the shenanigans you’d expect. These shots are interspersed with footage of present-day Ed walking around, remembering his past. Finally, the last scene in the video shows us what we’ve been waiting to see: the titular castle on the hill.

The song comes from Ed’s upcoming third album,÷ (pronounced “divide”), out on March 3rd. You can pre-order the album on iTunes now ahead of its upcoming release. You’ll get instant downloads of both “Castle” and “Shape Of You” with the pre-order.

With the new album just around the corner and two new songs ready to top radio charts, things are getting exciting in the Ed Sheeran world. Keep checking back here for all the latest music news.
