Ed Sheeran Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day With “Galway Girl” Lyric Video
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! In celebration of the world’s favorite Irish holiday, Ed Sheeran shared his Irish-influenced new song, “Galway Girl.” The song comes from his popular new album, ÷ (pronounced “divide”), which already launched his hit singles “Shape Of You” and “Castle On The Hill.” Ed announced that “Galway Girl” will be the next single, and to kick things off, fans get to enjoy a lyric video.
The song describes a girl who plays fiddle in an Irish band, but of course she fell in love with Ed Sheeran, an English man. He then paints a picture of the exciting night they had together, even admitting that she beat him at both pool and darts. It’s a fun, cute song, and the perfect track to blast as we enjoy the holiday. Watch the lyric video for “Galway Girl” below:
Ed’s new album ÷ came out just two weeks ago. His first two singles, “Castle On The Hill” and “Shape Of You,” have been all over radio. Prior to the album’s release, Ed also shared live versions of “How Would You Feel (Paean)” and “Eraser.”
You can buy ÷ on iTunes now or stream it on Spotify. With “Galway Girl” confirmed as the next single, we can expect to see a music video for that in the coming weeks. Keep checking back here for all the latest Ed Sheeran music news.
