Disney fans and Natasha Bedingfield fans will enjoy her new song, “More Of Me.” The song was written by Andy Dodd and Dewain Whitmore, and it appears in the end-credits of Tangled: The Series. The new Disney Channel series takes place between the original 2009 Tangled film and its short film sequel, Tangled Ever After.
“More Of Me” is an upbeat, empowering song set against acoustic guitar and cheery handclaps. Natash sings about finding inner strength, exploring your curiosity, and not holding in your personality. The lyrics relate directly to Rapunzel’s situation, but they can also apply to any listener. Its message is universal and positive, and a perfect fit for Natasha’s discography. Listen to “More Of Me” below:
Natasha told Billboard about how she identifies with Rapunzel:
I wake up in the morning and I’m like, “There are a lot of experiences outside my door that I could be missing if I don’t get out of the house”. That’s the way I look at the world.
I definitely relate to the character in Tangled. I feel like every human being has the same feeling about them — that there’s so much more to them than we know. We all want to be understood and we all want to be known. We’re all three-dimensional and have different sides to us.
The song comes courtesy of Walt Disney Records. Tangled: The Series premieres today on the Disney Channel, so be sure to tune in.
This isn’t Natasha’s first collaboration with Disney and children’s shows. She also contributed the original song “Who I Am” for Disney’s 2014 film, The Pirate Fairy. That Tinker Bell starring movie also included Natasha’s track “Weightless” from her 2010 album Strip Me.
Speaking of new albums, Natasha has been writing and recording for a few years. In addition to various collaborations, she has released a few solo songs since Strip Me came out. She performed a new song called “I Like You” in 2013. Her charity song “Hope” came out in 2015, and in 2016 Natasha released her Basto collab, “Unicorn.”
Natasha has not yet confirmed when a new album will be ready for her fans to hear. But with any luck, 2017 will be the year. Nearly 20 new Natasha songs have recently appeared on ASCAP, hopefully indicating new music is ready for release. Keep checking back here for all the latest Natasha Bedingfield music news.
