Lana Del Rey Announces New Album ‘Lust For Life’ In Witchy Trailer
Lana Del Rey has spent the last year getting ready to release a new album, the followup to 2015’s Honeymoon. In a spooky new album trailer, Lana announces that her album will be called Lust For Life. And alhough she didn’t reveal its tracklist or release date, she promises that it is “coming soon.”
Lana Del Rey takes on the role of a mysterious witch living in the H of the Hollywood sign. She invokes images of the moon and solar system, as well as the fire in the Statue Of Liberty’s torch going out. The whole video feels like a Twilight Zone episode, with a retro sci-fi vibe set on space and witchcraft. The video ends with Lana writing Lust For Life on a blackboard before it floats into space with a “coming soon” note floating next to it.
As Lana mixes up ingredients for her new album, she shows a few symbols that land in her black cooking pot. Among those symbols is The Weeknd’s XO logo, indicating he will appear on the record. Yesterday, ASCAP revealed the new song “Lust For Life” was co-written by Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd. It seems he will appear on the title track along with Lana. This will be their fourth collaboration overall. In 2015, Lana joined The Weeknd on his Beauty Behind The Madness track, “Prisoner.” His latest album, Starboy, included Lana on two tracks: “Stargirl Interlude” and “Party Monster.”
Among the other symbols Lana threw into her cauldron are the phoenix from Chimera Music, a moon, and a whisk.

Our first taste of Lust For Life is its lead single, “Love,” which debuted last month. The single also came with a space age music video, fitting the retro sci-fi vibe of the new album trailer.
There’s no word yet on exactly when Lust For Life will be released. Most likely it will be within the next couple of months. Although we don’t have a tracklist yet, it should include her lead single “Love,” as well as her collaboration with The Weeknd on the title track.
This will serve as the followup to her 2015 record, Honeymoon. Lana rose to fame with her major label debut, Born To Die, back in 2012. Lana revealed that she made this album for her fans, and it will be intriguing to hear what she’s recorded. Keep checking back hear for all the latest on Lust For Life – including its full tracklisting, release date, and cover art.
