BANKS Surprise-Releases New Single, “Crowded Places”
Surprise, BANKS fans! Even though she just released her sophomore album The Altar last September, BANKS is already putting out new music. After hinting at a new song yesterday, BANKS released her new single “Crowded Places” today. She wrote the song for the last season of Girls, which officially ends on April 16th. The HBO series began in 2012 and ran for six seasons.
Of the song, BANKS said, “Shoutout to social anxiety and falling in love.” Indeed, “Crowded Places” does mention being “scared of crowded places,” a common theme among people with anxiety. On the other hand, BANKS also expresses her desire to love a person who’s ready to leave her. The song is soft and vulnerable. Listen to “Crowded Places” below:
You can buy “Crowded Places” on iTunes or stream it on Spotify now.
Last year, BANKS released her album The Altar, the followup to her 2014 debut, Goddess. It launched the singles “F–K With Myself,” “Gemini Feed,” and, most recently, “Trainwreck.” You can buy The Altar on iTunes now.
