Shakira has been busy lately! She’s been working on her upcoming 11th studio album, and just released a second taste of the new music. “Me Enamoré” (which means “I fell in love) is the second single she’s released from the album. It follows her 2016 single, “Chantaje,” featuring Colombian singer Maluma.
“Me Enamoré” is a fun, sweet love song. Set to a reggaetón beat, Shakira sings about all the little things she likes about the new man in her life. From her love of his pretty eyes to her desire to have 10 kids with him, it’s clear Shakira is head over heals. Shakira wrote it for her boyfriend Gerard Piqué, the center back for the soccer team FC Barcelona. The couple has been together for six years, and they have two sons together.
The new single also comes with a lyric video. It features cute animations that paint out exactly what the lyrics describe. Even if you don’t understand Spanish, you’ll be able to follow along. Watch the “Me Enamoré” lyric video below:
“Me Enamoré” is the second single we’ve heard from Shakira’s upcoming 11th album. Though “Chantaje” (“Blackmail”) came out first, it was not intended to be the lead single. In 2016, Shakira also released her solo single “Try Everything,” recorded for the hugely successful Disney film, Zootopia.
But that’s not all! Shakira has also been featured on numerous new singles by other artists. Last year, she joined Colombian singer Carlos Vives for his single, “La Bicicleta.” Earlier this year, Shakira and Prince Royce released the romantic duet “Deja Vu.” She also appears on French rapper Black M’s new song, “Comme Moi.” Though he sings in French, Shakira’s parts are in English.
Along with “Me Enamoré” and “Chanteje,” another song set to appear on Shakira’s new album is called “When A Woman.” She approved a mix of the song last month.
You can buy “Me Enamoré” on iTunes or stream it on Spotify now. There’s no word yet on when Shakira’s new album will be ready, but in the coming weeks there should be more information. Keep checking back here for all the latest music news.
