Find Your Name In This Playlist! 80 Songs Titled After People’s Names
Last week, we shared a star-studded playlist of songs featuring famous names in their titles. Everyone from Cleopatra and Albert Einstein to Mick Jagger and Amy Winehouse appeared in the song titles. Even characters from Greek mythology, 20th century literature, and movies had a chance to shine.
This week, we offer a playlist with double the names… but this time, there are no famous figures involved. Many of these songs were named after real people the songwriters knew – such as daughters, sisters, fathers, lovers, and friends. However, other songs take made up names that may not refer to anyone in particular. We’ve included a couple of nicknames, and one of the songs is titled after the common unidentified person’s stand-in name.
Listen to these 80 “name” songs written in honor of real and imaginary people. We focused on songs from the 21st century, but threw in a few oldies but goodies too.
