See Ed Sheeran’s Music Video For “Galway Girl” Starring Saoirse Ronan

Ed Sheeran’s newest single is the fun Irish-sounding track, “Galway Girl,” off his album ÷ (aka “divide”). He previously shared a lyric video for the song on St. Patrick’s Day, but now it comes to life in the point-of-view music video Ed Sheeran shot himself in Ireland. The video stars Irish American actress Saoirse Ronan as our Galway girl, though she declines to play a fiddle despite Ed’s repeated mention of it in the chorus.

Ed and Saoirse have plenty of fun in the pubs and streets of Galway, playing darts, dancing with a group of women, and even getting a new tattoo. Ed does get punched towards the end, but all’s right in the end with Saoirse by his side. Jason Koenig directed the clip.

“Galway Girl” is the third single and music video we’ve gotten from Ed’s latest album, ÷. It follows “Castle On The Hill” and his hit “Shape Of You”. You can buy the album on iTunes or stream it on Spotify now.

Ed will be touring in South and Central America between May and June, with dates in the US and Canada following for the rest of the summer and into early fall. Check out all the tour dates and be sure to grab some tickets before it’s too late.
