The All-American Rejects Tease Lyrics For Upcoming Single, “Sweat”
Nearly three months ago, All-American Rejects lead singer Tyson Ritter hinted that the band’s new single, “Sweat,” would be out one month later. May came and went with no song and no news other than a tour announcement. Finally, the All-American Rejects started teasing the new song again earlier this month. We know “Sweat” will be out sometime in July, though the exact date is still a mystery. The All-American Rejects have continued teasing sneak peeks of the new music video, and have even started sharing some lyrics.
We now know the following lines from “Sweat”:
From the tongue it slips, some simple twist of fate to shape and shake the room we’re standing in.
I remember then a silence held me like weightless in the tonic of you once again.
Ignorance was bliss, ignorance was this we could exist and then surrender. Do you remember?
It looks like the “Sweat” music video is set at a classy house party. The four lads are dressed in pastel-colored suits, holding fancy drinks (or, if you’re Chis, a banana).

We know they filmed the video on May 3rd. Now the band has added a zero to the day portion of the upcoming release date. Which means we still have no idea what day it actually comes out.

Starting this Monday, the band started previewing song lyrics, too.

The exact date will be announced soon. With any luck, we’ll get the song early in the month, along with its music video. An EP – or even full album? – will likely follow soon after.
It’s been a long process getting to this point. The All-American Rejects started recording last spring and summer 2-16. They entered the studio again this January.
So far, fans have gotten to hear one full new song from the summer sessions; they’ve only played “DGAF” live, but a studio version should be on the new EP. As of December, its music video was planned and coming together.
In March, Tyson shared snippets of three songs they recorded in January, lyrics to a new track, and then one more song preview in March. One of those songs previewed “Sweat,” but the video has been taken down. We’ll have to wait at least a few more days to hear it.
In July, fans will finally get to hear “Sweat,” with the EP hopefully coming soon after. While we wait for July to arrive, enjoy the Rejects’ latest song, “There’s A Place,” from the film Miss You Already. Look for Tyson in it!
