Lana Del Rey Shares “Summer Bummer” & “Groupie Love,” Both Featuring A$AP Rocky

Lana Del Rey has been expertly building up hype for her new album, Lust For Life, for most of the year. Now that she’s already released singles “Love,” “Lust For Life” featuring The Weeknd, and “Coachella – Woodstock In My Mind,” she’s back with two more songs. “Summer Bummer” returns Lana to her hip-hop origins, while “Groupie Love” is a love song for your rock star boyfriend. Lana also confirmed the Lust For Life tracklist, and you can pre-order the album now ahead of its July 21st release.

First up is “Summer Bummer,” featuring A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti. Lana is going back to her Born To Die roots, demurely singing and murmuring over a murky rap beat. She sings of hip-hop in the summer, wondering if you’ll stay or leave. They’ve traveled for weeks to escape his demons, but not even summer love can fix their relationship issues. Listen to “Summer Bummer” below:

“Groupie Love,” also featuring A$AP Rocky, is a lighter song. It pairs a romantic mood with a ’60-style swelling wall-of-sound. Lana sings from the perspective of someone dating the singer on stage… or at least daydreaming about him from the seclusion of her own home. She feels that special connection with him, though she’s probably not alone in that feeling. Everyone’s fallen for the musician whose music speaks to you, and “Groupie Love” brings that feeling to life. Enjoy “Groupie Love” below:

You can listen to both “Summer Bummer” and “Groupie Love” on Spotify now. You can also get instant downloads of them and “Love,” “Lust For Life” (featuring The Weeknd), and “Coachella – Woodstock In My Mind” if you pre-order the album. It’s available for pre-order on iTunes and in physical bundles on Lana’s official store.

  3. “13 Beaches”

Her first album to include any collaborations, Lust For Life includes five featured artists on as many songs. We’ve already heard five of the songs in studio quality, though Lana has also performed “Cherry” and shared snippets of “White Mustang” and “Change.”

Fans may notice some anticipated songs are missing. Though Lana frequently mentioned “Yosemite” as a favorite track on the record, it will not be on Lust For Life. “Roses Bloom For You,” which she previewed on Instagram, will also not make the cut. A song known as “Best American Record” or “Architecture” has also been scrapped, though it did leak in full a few months ago.

Lana talked about the scrapped songs, the newly released tracks, and more in a new in-depth interview with Zane Lowe:
