At long last, Hoobastank is about to release their sixth studio album! Late last year, Hoobastank officially began recording their upcoming album, the followup to 2012’s Fight Or Flight. They shared plenty of studio photos and videos as they recorded from October into December, and they confirmed that their new album will be out sometime in 2017. After initially finishing recording in January, they added more new songs in March and again this August and September. Their promises of a 2017 release have not come true, but we will be hearing the new album very soon. In a new statement, Hoobastank announced that they have signed with Napalm Records to release the album in “the first half of 2018.”
We’re extremely thrilled about signing with Napalm Records and honored to be joining their roster of talented artists. For our 6th full length album we finally got to work with producer Matt Wallace. We had been wanting to work with him for years and finally the timing was right. The writing and recording process was everything we could have hoped for. Matt challenged us and brought out different aspects of what we love about making music. We’re excited for our fans to hear it and to make some new fans along the way.
How will the new album sound? Our first hints come from two new songs Hoobastank debuted last month. While touring Japan, the band performed “True Believer” and “Don’t Look Away,” both expected to appear on the upcoming record. Back in 2015, they also mentioned two other song titles: “Way Of The World” and “Chaos.”
Update 10/22: Hoobastank’s new music mixes are all officially done:
There’s no word yet on the album’s title or its tracklisting, but we have at least four songs to look forward to. Hoobastank’s sixth album will be out sometime in the first half of 2018 via Napalm Records. While we wait for these last few months to pass, stay up-to-date on the new album over on our recording page. Keep checking back here for all the latest Hoobastank music news.
