Fall Out Boy’s new album, M A N I A, will be out in just two months. With such a long lead-up, fans have already heard three official singles, not to mention live performances of a M A N I A album track. Today, Fall Out Boy released their fourth single from the upcoming album, “HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON’T.” It’s their poppiest song, but it’s also instantly enjoyable. The song launches with a reggaeton beat topped off with tropical keys and whistles. Frontman Patrick Stump sings of persistent memories and a teddy bear metaphor.
“HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON’T” also comes with a visually stunning music video. Set in a Dia de lost Muertos fiesta, the band performs amongst a joyous crowd dressed up for the Mexican holiday. Meanwhile, the “Young And Menace” llama monsters, a skeleton dressed in a purple suit, and a woman with an ornately-painted face and floral headdress take center stage. The Dia de los Muertos theme seems a bit late, as the holiday ended two weeks ago, but it will be perfect when the day comes around next year.
