After a quiet 2017, CHVRCHES is back with a brand new single. “Get Out” is our first taste of the group’s upcoming third album, due out this spring. The song builds on a clacking beat and winding synths, frontwoman Lauren Mayberry admitting to never saying or knowing what she wanted. But as the problems become clearer, it moves into a poppy chorus repeatedly asking, “Can we get out of here?” This is the most pop CHVRCHES has gone so far, but they still retain their unique charm.
About the new music, Lauren recently told Entertainment Weekly:
When I listen to the record, I feel like it’s the most pop stuff we’ve done and also the most aggressive and vulnerable at the same time. It was about really leaning into those moments — and also wanting there to be a real humanity and character to what we’re saying.

You can buy “Get Out” on iTunes or stream it on Spotify now. It will also appear on the band’s upcoming album, expected later this year. The new album, reportedly titled Love Is Dead, will be CHVRCHES’ third release. It follows 2015’s Every Open Eye. This time around, CHVRCHES worked with producer Greg Kurstin on the new songs.
With a new single to enjoy and an album on the horizon, there will be plenty going on in the CHVRCHES world this year. Keep checking back here for all the latest CHVRCHES music news.
