Florence + The Machine Drops New Track, “Sky Full Of Song”
Florence + The Machine have been hard at work recording their upcoming fourth album. While there’s no news on that just yet, fans do get to hear some new music! Today the group shared “Sky Full Of Song,” a track released for Record Store Day.
The song starts with a cappella vocals, accented only by tinkling sounds in the background. It slowly builds up, first with gentle strums, then percussion, piano, and strings. Even as it grows, “Sky Full Of Song” sounds delicate and magical, its subtlety amplifying the lyrics and mood. It’s a lovely track that highlights Florence + The Machine’s unique appeal.
The music video, directed by AG Rojas, matches the simplicity of the song. The black and white clip plays like an old home video, as the shrunken footage never fills the whole screen, and the camera work is minimal. Frontwoman Florence Welch spends most of her time lying on the wooden floors, but eventually she has a new sprout to show for it.

Florence + The Machine have also been working on a new album, the followup to 2015’s How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. The album is expected this year, but there’s no word on whether it will include “Sky Full Of Song.”
