Two months ago, Natasha Bedingfield expressed her desire to return to the studio. Even though she just gave birth to her son Solomon on New Year’s Eve, the new mother has been itching to get back to her music! In March, Natasha even shared an old sneak peek of “Me Around You,” an unreleased song she’s teased before.
Last week, Natasha officially began writing and recording new material! She shared her first behind-the-scenes post on Tuesday afternoon, following it up with a second post on Friday morning. Natasha has been working with superstar songwriter Linda Perry, who co-wrote Natasha’s most recent song, “Hey Boy.”
Today, Natasha celebrated her first week of recording in the studio. It seems that she has a lot of musical ideas that she’s excited to get out! Hopefully fans will get to hear some of the new songs soon!
I N S P R A T I O N P O S E S. Every artist can relate to those moments where you sit quietly and wait for the muse to grab you. Here is Linda Perry in that open state. A true conduit. A proper legend but still all ego aside. A friend that I admire so much. Loving writing with you this week. #music #studio #songwriting #backtowork
Such a great first week back in the studio! Making music makes me so filled up. Especially with @reallindaperry. Keep being creative whatever you do peeps. It’s the secret to life . Always challenging your self . Pushing for the best way to express something, be brave, take risks and have fun.
2017 saw Natasha release four new songs, including “Let Go” and “Love Looks Like.” However, her personal life took center stage in the latter half of the year; she announced her pregnancy in the fall, and her son Solomon was born on December 31st.
In February, Natasha said she is “really determined to get some of the best music and art that I’ve made out and into your ears”. Now that she’s back in the studio, we can’t help but wonder: might a new album be in the cards for 2018?
Natasha’s last album, Strip Me, came out an astonishing 8 years ago. Since then, Natasha has spent the better part of the past six years writing and recording, yet a full record still eludes us. Though we’ve gotten plenty of songs here and there over the years, fans are desperate for a full-length release. Here’s hoping we’ll finally get album #4 this year!
It’s exciting to know that new Natasha music could be coming our way. Catch up on all we know about the long-awaited fourth album. Keep checking back here for all the latest Natasha Bedingfield music news.
