In April, Natasha Bedingfield officially returned to the studio for the first time since becoming a mom. Her son Solomon was born on New Year’s Eve, and he seems to have inspired Natasha already! It’s now been six weeks since Natasha began writing and recording with Linda Perry, and today we got our first snippet of the new music!
In the message that accompanies the exciting video, Natasha talks about getting into a new flow. She’s excited about the new music and as impatient for fans to hear it as we are. If the new clip is anything to go by, Natasha’s upcoming album will be so worth the wait. In the third post down, listen towards the end to hear the new song!
Been such a special few weeks in the studio with Linda Perry. Feeling so grateful to be back at work and play after a life changing challenging year. Linda’s pretty incredible creatively, I feel like I’m learning so much by being open to new ways of working. Feeling a new flow coming and starting to get excited. Trying not to get ahead of myself; keeping my head down and keep this magic cooking. You are always on my mind. I want to blow you all away with brilliant unexpectedness, and also to release a music experience that is worth waiting for and that will stick around. I want to continue writing things that resonate; that need to be said; and also fun that must be had ❤️❤️❤️
2017 saw Natasha release four new songs, including “Let Go” and “Hey Boy.” (The latter she wrote with current collaborator Linda Perry.) However, Natasha’s personal life took center stage later in the year. She announced her pregnancy in the fall, and her son Solomon was born on December 31st.
In February, Natasha said she was “really determined to get some of the best music and art that I’ve made out and into your ears”. Now that she’s back in the studio, we can’t help but wonder: might a new album be in the cards for 2018?
Natasha’s last album, Strip Me, came out an astonishing 8 years ago. Since then, Natasha has spent the better part of the past six years writing and recording, yet a full record still eludes us. Though we’ve gotten plenty of songs here and there over the years, fans are desperate for a full-length release. Here’s hoping we’ll finally get album #4 this year!
It’s exciting to know that new Natasha music could be coming our way. Catch up on all we know about the long-awaited fourth album. Keep checking back here for all the latest Natasha Bedingfield music news. Enjoy the new song clip!
