Muse Announce New Album ‘Simulation Theory,’ Release “The Dark Side”

If that album announcement isn’t enough excitement for one day, Muse also shared the music video for a new song. “The Dark Side” is the most energetic and instantly gratifying songs we’ve heard from Simulation Theory so far. It sounds similar to the Muse of Origin Of Symmetry or Absolution, so old-school fans are sure to enjoy it as much as newer fans. The music video, directed by Lance Drake, picks up right where “Something Human” left off. Matt Bellamy, still in his red sports car, races through the alternate reality world the vortex led him to. It’s an eery sci-fi city inhabited by dangerous giant skeletons. But for all their fearsome ways, Matt isn’t deterred as he zooms by them.

Ahead of the November 9th release, you can pre-order Simulation Theory at Muse’s official website now. There you will find the standard, deluxe, and super deluxe editions. They provide links to streaming, digital downloads, CDs, cassettes, and vinyl options. When you pre-order, you’ll receive instant downloads of the four released songs so far. If you choose a physical option, you’ll also get early access to Muse’s upcoming 2019 tour, expected to start next spring.
With only three months to go before we get Simulation Theory, there will be plenty going on in the Muse universe. The band plans to release one more song, “Pressure,” ahead of the album. So far, all four songs have come with accompanying music videos. Today, Muse confirmed that the other seven songs will also each get a music video, meaning this will be a fully visual album.
