Natasha Bedingfield Shares Sneak Peek At New Song “Roller Skates”
Natasha Bedingfield has been in the studio recording a new album for the last several months. Along with songwriter Linda Perry, she has made tons of progress and shared studio sneak peeks along the way. Today, Natasha did an impromptu Facebook Live in which she showed fans around the studio. She started off with her baby son Solomon, then walked in as a group of horn players practiced their parts. She then joined Linda and an audio engineer named Luis in the control room.
Linda gushed about the new music she and Natasha have written and recorded:
Natasha’s record is so amazing, you guys are gonna freak out! It’s gonna be a Natasha you have not heard, but you’re gonna go, “Why haven’t we in all this time?”
Natasha added, “It’s a whole new thing, but actually it’s all been there… but we’re pulling it out.” Linda agreed, adding, “We got a little this, a little that.”
As Linda turned her attention back to the horn players, she announced a song called “Roller Skates”; Natasha confirmed this is a new song which may appear on her upcoming album. All in all, it sounds like Natasha’s new album – which may have a “disco-retro vibe” – will be stunning!

In the past couple of weeks, Natasha has shared plenty of studio sneak peeks. While many were Instagram stories – now lost to the online abyss – some were more permanent posts.
We are so ready for a new Natasha Bedingfield album, especially if it’ll include some disco-retro tunes and those nice horns! Though we’ve had some quiet years recently, 2017 saw Natasha release four new songs, including “Let Go” and “Hey Boy.” (The latter she wrote with current collaborator Linda Perry.) However, Natasha’s personal life took center stage later in the year. She announced her pregnancy in the fall, and her son Solomon was born on December 31st.
In February, Natasha said she was “really determined to get some of the best music and art that I’ve made out and into your ears”. Now that she’s back in the studio officially recording a new album, we can’t help but wonder: Will 2018 be our year?
Natasha’s last album, Strip Me, came out an astonishing 8 years ago. Since then, Natasha has spent the better part of the past six years writing and recording, yet a full record still eludes us. Though we’ve gotten plenty of songs here and there over the years, fans are desperate for a full-length release. The good news is Natasha is officially recording a new album now! Whether she scrapped her work from her earlier sessions is unclear. But in any case, there’s new music to look forward to. Here’s hoping we’ll finally get album #4 this year!
