Shakira Unveils “Nada” Music Video After Live Debut In Bogotá
Tonight, Shakira ended her El Dorado World Tour in her home country, Colombia. But she had a treat in store: She surprised her Bogotá crowd to the debut of the her new music video for “Nada,” the fifth single from her 2017 album, El Dorado. Luckily, fans around the world didn’t have to wait long. Immediately after showing the video live in Bogotá, the music video appeared online, too.
Shakira first shared “Nada” as a promo single a week before releasing El Dorado. Today, it graduates to official single with the release of its music video.
The “Nada” video paints a visual of the song’s lyrics about emptiness. Fame and fortune can’t fill the void inside her. Shakira wanders an empty lighthouse she’s made her home, lonely and searching for anything to satisfy her needs. The plumbing and electricity are failing, so she’s unable to drink water or watch TV. Her book is filled with empty pages, so it also provides little entertainment. Likewise, her goldfish doesn’t inspire much companionship. Shakira finally ends up looking outwards, and the video closes with her flailing above the surrounding water.

Shakira kicked off El Dorado with “Chantaje” in late 2016. “Me Enamoré,” “Perro Fiel,” and “Trap” served as the following singles, with a non-album single, “Clandestino,” this summer. Colombian reggaeton singer Maluma featured on three of the singles. “La Bicicleta” with Carlos Vives, “Comme Moi” with Black M, and “Deja Vu” with Prince Royce were also singles in 2016 and 2017.
“Nada” will likely be the final single from El Dorado. Hopefully, Shakira will begin working on her next album in 2019.
We’ve reached the end of this road. Your friendship and affection are my treasure. After searching and searching thanks to you I’ve found El Dorado. Shak
