Andrew McMahon Tackles Money Problems In “Paper Rain” Music Video

Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness just released his third solo album, Upside Down Flowers. To celebrate the special day, he also unveiled the music video for his latest single, “Paper Rain.”

The song paints a Las Vegas scene and a theme of trying “turn our luck around.” The new music video brings that story to life. The video starts in family’s kitchen, the parents skirting around a difficult conversation as their teenaged son eats dinner. He then notices the mail, marked in red with “PAST DUE” and “FINAL NOTICE” warnings. He’s worried about his family’s money problems, but he’s ready to take action. The next day, he trades in some old jewelry at a pawn shop, but the cash isn’t enough. He makes up his mind then and uses the money to gamble away the financial struggles. “Paper Rain” ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so it’s up to you to decide whether they get a happy ending.
