Green Day Surprises Fans With “Youngblood” Music Video
Green Day is always full of surprises! Over two years after releasing their album Revolution Radio – and after a greatest hits and a few side projects in between – the band just shared a music video for “Youngblood.” The last we heard from Revolution Radio was the “Too Dumb To Die” lyric video in September 2017. In fact, “Youngblood” itself already got a lyric video in 2016.
The new music video for “Youngblood” serves as a Christmas present from Green Day to all their fans. The video wraps up the Revolution Radio era, featuring a montage of clips from the band’s live shows and backstage hijinks. It features their band and crew, their wives and children, and all of the fans that went out to see them. It’s a simple video, but it reminds us of why we love Green Day so much.

“Youngblood” comes from Green Day’s 2016 album, Revolution Radio. That record included the singles “Bang Bang,” “Still Breathing,” and the title track. You can buy Revolution Radio on iTunes or Green Day’s official website now, or stream it on Spotify. More recently, Green Day released their second greatest hits compilation, God’s Favorite Band, late in 2017. Earlier this year, Billie Joe released the album Love Is For Losers with his new side band, The Longshot.
This isn’t the only Green Day news this week! Just a few days ago, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong revealed that he is “writing new songs” for Green Day. Although he didn’t reveal any other information, the band will likely begin recording in the coming months. With any luck, we could get a new album late next year; otherwise, 2020 sounds promising.
