Following the smash hit that was the “Finesse” remix last year, Bruno Mars and Cardi B have teamed up again, this time for an all-new song called “Please Me.” After dropping the single two weeks ago, today fans can see its old-school music video.
“Please Me” is a retro R&B song that flips traditional gender roles. Over a mid-tempo beat, Cardi B takes on the dominant role while Bruno croons his pleas. While the choruses are charming and infectious, Cardi’s verses veer into more sexually-charged territory, explicitly stating what she wants.
In the new music video, we find Bruno with a group of friends at a Mexican diner in Los Angeles. When Cardi and her squad walk in, she and Bruno are instantly attracted. They flirtatiously dance around the diner before heading outside for a dangerous car ride down the highway. It’s a fun video that brings the song’s lyrics to life in an old-school movie style.

Want to hear more from Cardi B and Bruno Mars? Be sure to check out their first collaboration. “Finesse” first appeared as a solo version on Bruno’s 2016 album, 24K Magic. It wasn’t until a remix of the song, released in January 2018, that we heard Cardi’s additional vocals in the mix. Their duet version of “Finesse” was a hit and paved the way for “Please Me” a year later.
Following his 24K Magic run, Bruno’s last single was “Wake Up In The Sky,” a song he did with Gucci Mane and Kodak Black last year. You can see Bruno live once he starts his second Las Vegas residency next month. After that, Bruno will likely get ready to release his 4th studio album.
Cardi B just won the Grammy for Best Rap Album for her debut release, Invasion Of Privacy. She’s about to tour North America and Europe, so find tickets before they sell out! Along with her recent single, “Money,” “Please Me” could appear on Cardi’s sophomore album.
