In a move that will surprise and delight fans, Alicia Keys hast just announced she secretly wrote a memoir! Her new book, More Myself: A Journey, will come out on November 5, 2019. It’s being published by Flatiron Books and Oprah Winfrey’s new book imprint, An Oprah Book.
As a press release about the new book described:
More Myself is part autobiography, part narrative documentary. Alicia’s journey is revealed not only through her own candid recounting, but also through vivid recollections from those who have walked alongside her. The result is a 360-degree perspective on Alicia’s path—from her girlhood in Hell’s Kitchen and Harlem, to the process of self-discovery she’s still navigating.

Last month, Alicia hosted the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. In addition to hosting, Alicia also performed an incredible medley of cover songs, ending with her hit with Jay-Z, “Empire State Of Mind.” She then performed a medley of Motown hits along with Jennifer Lopez, Smokey Robinson, and Ne-Yo
Following the Grammys, Alicia released new song, “Raise A Man.” It comes over two years after Alicia’s last album, HERE, which came out in November 2016. In spring 2017 Alicia released a rarities EP, Vault Playlist Vol. 1. Since then, Alicia has appeared on several songs by DJ Khaled, Eminem, and Justin Timberlake, including the single “Us” with James Bay.
At this point, it’s too soon to know when Alicia will release her next album, but her studio inspiration is encouraging! With any luck, we’ll find out more about her new music in the coming months.
With More Myself dropping in November, Alicia may release a new album around the same time. Launching a new book and new music could work well – but only time will tell if that’s actually the plan.
Get ready to read More Myself: A Journey later this year. In the meantime, we’ll keep you up-to-date on all the latest book and music news. Keep checking back here for more on Alicia Keys.
