P!nk Dances With Shadows In Theatrical “Walk Me Home” Music Video
Last month, P!nk shared her new single “Walk Me Home,” the lead from her upcoming album, Hurts 2B Human. Today, the song gets a charming and theatrical music video.
“Walk Me Home” opens on a crowded city street, lit up only by tall lamps and P!nk’s bright red dress. But as P!nk stares into the camera, the rest of the people disappear from around her, leaving her on an empty sidewalk. The setting looks like a scene from a musical – perhaps a nod to P!nk’s rendition of “A Million Dreams” for hit musical-film, The Greatest Showman. Indeed, the surroundings look more like a painted theater set than an actual city.
P!nk walks alone, but soon she’s dancing – not by herself, but with the shadows of strangers we can’t see. She flies through the air and twirls around as if she’s being swung by a dance partner. Her shadow has a companion and a group of backup dancers, but we only see P!nk walking that city scene. By the time she comes to, seemingly harkened back to the real world after getting lost in her dreams, she’s back on that dark, crowded street. But this time, she feels less alone.
