Lana Del Rey Already Teasing Next Album, ‘White Hot Forever’

Lana Del Rey may have just released her new album, Norman Fucking Rockwell, today, but she’s already talking about her next album! In a new interview with The Times of London, Lana revealed that she already has a title for her next record – White Hot Forever – and plans to drop it in just one year.

As Lana explained:

I’ve already written parts of it. It’s called White Hot Forever. I feel like it probably will be a surprise release sometime within the next 12 or 13 months. I’m really excited right now. I don’t want to take a break.

Norman Fucking Rockwell is amazing, so we’re certainly excited to hear White Hot Forever in 2020!

In addition to a new album, Lana is also writing the music for an upcoming film adaptation of Lewis Carroll novel Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland. Lana has had plenty of movies in soundtracks over the years – most recently, “Season Of The Witch” in Guillermo Del Toro’s Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark; coming in a couple weeks, a song with Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus for the upcoming Charlie’s Angels film – so it’s a natural progression for her to move into film scoring for a change. Lana described that project:

It’s more about the story of the author and the real-life Alice back in Cambridge. I have to learn a lot more about it, but the songs are really sweet.

Norman Fucking Rockwell

Despite all this talk of Lana’s next album, don’t forget that she just released her new album today. Following a host of singles –  “Mariners Apartment Complex,” “Venice Bitch,” “hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have – but i have it,” her cover of Sublime’s “Doin’ Time,” and “The Greatest” and “Fuck It I Love You” – plus plenty of teasing and a live debut of “How To Disappear,” Lana finally released Norman Fucking Rockwell today.

It’s an excellent album that blends the best of Lana’s talents while pushing her ever forward. Read our full track-by-track review.

“Looking For America” & “Season Of The Witch”

Ever generous with her music, Lana released two additional songs on August 9th, although neither appear on her new album. She wrote “Looking For America” following the back-to-back shootings in the US in the first weekend of August. Lana then released the song just a few days later.

Lana also recorded a cover of “Season Of The Witch” – originally by Donovan – for the new Guillermo Del Toro film, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark.

In a few weeks, we should also hear Lana’s next soundtrack single, this time for Charlie’s Angels. She recorded a still-unannounced song and music video with Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus.
