Natasha Bedingfield Drops “Kick It” Music Video
Last month, Natasha Bedingfield released Roll With Me, her first album in nine years. Following singles “Roller Skate,” “Kick It,” and “Everybody Come Together,” today we finally get our first visual for the album. Natasha just shared the music video for “Kick It,” the opening track on Roll With Me.
“Kick It” glides in softly, simple keyboard chords and atmospheric synths over a mid-tempo beat. Natasha’s first words are “Remember how you made me crazy? Remember how I didn’t care?” It sets the tone for a song about keeping the love alive through the years and through the ups and downs. But there are more downs right now, and Natasha has wounds and scars that need healing. This song actually highlights a theme heard on the rest of the album: fighting through the hard times to find the light at the end of the tunnel.
In its accompanying music video, Natasha dons numerous outfits as she grooves in front of simple sets. It starts with just her and a blank screen behind her, but she slowly adds in extra details: a streamer to wave around, a microphone to swing on top of her stage, a mirror on the floor beside her. Her styles and expressions are the focus here, driving home the message of the song’s lyrics.
