Tove Lo & Doja Cat Are “Equally Lost” In New Lyric Video
In between unexpected singles (“Bikini Porn”) and collaborations (“Calling On Me” with Sean Paul), Tove Lo is still promoting her recent album, Sunshine Kitty. So far, it’s launched the singles “Glad He’s Gone,” the Alma-assisted “Bad As The Boys,” “Jacques” with Jax Jones, “Really Don’t Like U” featuring Kylie Minogue, “Sweettalk My Heart,” and “Are U Gonna Tell Her?” with MC Zaac. Today, “Equally Lost” featuring Doja Cat is up for the lyric video treatment.
“Equally Lost” is a short and tropical highlight on Sunshine Kitty. Tove sings of being lonely until someone catches her eye. She aims to charm her and dance all night. Because as she sings on the chorus, they’re both just lost and looking for a good time, and being together makes her feel less down. Doja Cat comes in for the second verse, rapping her acquiescence but saying this relationship won’t be anything serious or long-lasting. It’s just a fun summer fling.
Doja Cat doesn’t appear in the lyric video, but our animated Sunshine Kitty does a good job filling in. Tove dances around a beach town location – of course she does! – while the lyrics play across the bottom of the screen, karaoke style. The palm trees and poolside lounge chairs add to the song’s tropical flair, but we hope Doja Cat will make Tove a little less lonely in an official music video.

Tove just finished a North American tour, but is ready to launch her European tour in one week. Unless, of course, coronovirus forces her to postpone shows. As it stands, the tour kicks off on March 9th in Glasgow and ends in Stockholm on March 26th. And the US will get to see Tove again this spring: she’s scheduled May dates in the southeastern USA, with northeastern dates in June. Then, from July into August, Tove will tour around Europe.
