BANKS Strips Down “Contaminated” For New EP
Yesterday, BANKS shared a stripped back performance of her 2014 Goddess song, “Drowning.” It comes from her new EP, Live And Stripped, out this Friday, April 3rd. Today, BANKS offers fans another preview of the EP with a new “1 Mic 1 Take” version of “Contaminated,” a single from her 2019 album, III.
The album version of this song was already a murky and intimate performance. It translates smoothly into this new, stripped rendition. With acoustic guitar, keyboards, and some percussion hovering in the background, BANKS drives the song’s lyrics home, painting a vivid portrait of a tainted love. It’s a stunning performance that only amplifies the recording heard on III.
As with “Drowning” yesterday, our new recording of “Contaminated” also comes with a black-and-white video of the performance. BANKS dances as she sings, with her accompanying band hiding in the shadows behind her. Vertical beams of light add to the ambiance.

BANKS never stops making music. Following III and her upcoming Live And Stripped EP, we may expect to hear some brand new music in the next year or so, too. BANKS has already revealed that she’s writing music. However, she didn’t indicate a timeframe for when we might get to hear it. We’ll be patient for now, but we’re excited to hear what’s in store!
