Alicia Keys Shares Acoustic Version Of Her Single, “Underdog”
Next month, Alicia Keys will release her new album, ALICIA. Set to include her recent singles, “Underdog,” “Time Machine,” and “Show Me Love” featuring Miguel, it will be her first since 2016’s Here. Today, her latest single “Underdog” gets an acoustic update.
The studio version of “Underdog” builds over freeing acoustic guitar. Alicia sings about various different people who are down on their luck and working hard to survive. It’s a song full of positivity and warmth, and its message is as important as ever in these divided times.
The new acoustic version of “Underdog” comes from Alicia’s recent iHeart performance, streamed for her home studio. This time, “Underdog” is just Alicia’s piano and vocals. The stripped down version is just as glorious as the studio recording, and without the extra musical details, the message is even clearer here.

However, it’s unclear if her 2019 song “Raise A Man” will appear on the tracklist.
