Hear Alicia Keys’s Timely New Single, “Good Job”
In just three weeks, we’ll get to hear Alicia Keys’s new album, ALICIA. Following her recent singles, “Underdog,” “Time Machine,” and “Show Me Love” featuring Miguel, today fans can hear her latest single, “Good Job.” Tonight, Alicia will perform the song for the first time during a CNN Town Hall, starting at 8pm ET. According to CNN, “Good Job” is “dedicated to the everyday heroes on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic.”
“Good Job” is a tender ballad, and the softest song we’ve heard from the forthcoming album so far. Against just her piano, Alicia sings to an unsuspecting hero. This hero may not know it, but they’re doing a wonderful job of making the world lovely. Given the song’s dedication in tonight’s CNN Town Hall, the lyrics seem directed at all the nurses, doctors, postal workers, grocery store workers, food producers, and other people on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic. Indeed, “The world needs you now; know that you matter.”
