Gwen Stefani Gifts Us New Holiday Song, “Here This Christmas”
Gwen Stefani is clearly ready for Christmas early this year! Just over a week after releasing her take on “Sleigh Ride,” Gwen is back with her latest all-original holiday song. “Here This Christmas” is out now, and it appears on her updated deluxe album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas. She first released the album in 2017 with 12 songs; Gwen then re-released it with five additional songs in 2018. Today, the deluxe edition gets a final update, bringing its tracklist to 19, including a mix of holiday classics and originals. We can celebrate the release with her newest song, “Here This Christmas.”
The new track is defined by rapid piano chords and just a hint of jingle bells. Gwen sets the scene for a perfect Christmas Eve, but despite all she has – presents under the tree, snow falling outside – the only thing she really needs is her loved ones there with her. It’s a classic holiday sentiment, and this song includes plenty of references to other beloved carols. But it also has Gwen’s unique charm and a fun, energetic mood. “Here This Christmas” will fit right in among any holiday playlist.

More From Gwen
In addition to her two new Christmas tunes this year, Gwen is also now writing for her next (non-holiday) album! She talked about how quarantine has offered her time and creative inspiration in a recent interview. We don’t yet know when we’ll get her new album, but we’re thinking sometime in 2021 is a safe bet.
Gwen’s last studio album was This Is What The Truth Feels Like, released in early 2016. It launched the singles “Used To Love You,” “Make Me Like You,” and “Misery.”
More recently, Gwen released her first holiday album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, in 2018. She then re-released the Christmas album in 2018 with five more songs. Now, with “Sleigh Ride” and “Here This Christmas,” the updated deluxe edition features 19 tracks.
In the past year, Gwen has also moved into the country world, thanks to her boyfriend Blake Shelton. They had a big hit with their duet “Nobody But You” last winter; they followed that with “Happy Anywhere.”
In August, Gwen also appeared on a remix of Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia song, “Physical.”
2020 Holiday Music
Gwen’s two tracks aren’t our only new festive songs of 2020. We’ve already gotten Christmas albums from Carrie Underwood and Dolly Parton. This month, we can also look forward to the following holiday music:
- Tommee Profitt’s new album, The Birth Of A King, out last week. “What Child Is This?” features Avril Lavigne.
- Two new holiday songs from Kelly Clarkson: An original that she co-wrote, performed with country singer Brett Eldredge, and a cover of a beloved classic.
- Goo Goo Dolls’ new album, It’s Christmas All Over, due October 30th.
- Meghan Trainor’s new album, A Very Trainor Christmas, due October 30th.
- Tori Kelly’s new album, A Tori Kelly Christmas, due October 30th.
We love Gwen’s original new song, “Here This Christmas,” and of course her whole You Make It Feel Like Christmas album. After the holidays, hopefully 2021 will also bring news of her next studio album. Keep checking back here for all the latest Gwen Stefani music news.
